It was a long business day for this black sleek young man, he had to deal with various of people, specifically the main research leader. The guy felt exhausted from all the strings to keep Sunshine Technology popular, most advanced, and most importantly making enough funds to fun the gang Arrow. Paperwork here, paperwork there, it could drive a man mad, quite mad.
He had the money to take a taxi, hell to even own his own personal driver, but the night... The night was filled with shadows for manipulation, shadows were what bumped in the night. He rather greatly enjoyed this time of day, a soothing need for carnage all around, a need to reinforce fear toward the magics of the world.
Taking a deep breath now of the cold wintery wonderland, it smelled of car pollution and the stink of human population. He was once from this regular population, followed their beliefs foolishly, killing the world with such ease... Forgetting the true power lying beneath every turn, those hidden away in other words... He was thankful the day his Lord and Savior, Apep, granted him the gifts to be in servitude for life.
The servitude allowed him gifts from the great Apep himself, to become a Shadow Charmer, human chosen by the very darkness in the shadows. With this mighty gift, Nagi planned to remind this world just how truly scary the Gods of Old can be. He wanted his lord to eat the sun, bring mayhem to the world, let all evil spread to the ends. He gave a small smile at the thoughts crossing through his head, if only those around him were not fools to betray him. He had to re-plan, redo everything, he was so close. Oh so close of freeing his Master.
A woman rushed by, she was dressed for the cold wintery weather, smelled of fresh lily perfum. He wondered, would she be fun to hunt? His eyes flashing at the mere thought as the woman vanished into the shadowy horizon. Would this same woman be attacked by another? Maybe one within ARROW, who hunted the night? Caused chaos to help move the Shadow Charmer's plans along? Who knew, he certainly would tomorrow. That exact same woman worked at his office, she had a deadline in the next few days... Right before Christmas, quite a cruel fate, maybe she would be better off bumping into a monster in the night?
The woman who rushed by probably didn't even recognize her boss, he had covered his face in shadows, specifically snake shadows. If she were to look him the eye, she might notice some similar features, but not all. He liked to keep his powers and identity a secret, this world... With PILOT breathing down everyone's backs, it was best. Plus when one finds out the truth, they had a tendency to be poisoned by a snake bite, much much soon after. It was not good for anyone, not at all...
The snake decided to enjoy the wintery cold dark weather a tad bit longer, the Christmas lights dancing at all the business windows... Such a cheery time of year, if only it could last a little bit longer... if only crime rate wasn't so high. He sat on a bench in front of the window with the most christmas lights. He waited calmly outside, almost as if waiting for something to happen...

| The moon had been waning for days now and with each passing night, Sylvester felt more and more restless. Even after spending most of his life in Ashmill City, the young man sorely missed the moors of Germany. He missed running across them with the wild abandon of the pack, careless to human problems and completely free. While this city had been his home for so many years, there were times when he felt awfully homesick for a place he hadn't seen in over a decade. A decade might be next to nothing for his father, but Syl was still young and time passed more slowly for him.
This sense of homesick wildness was nothing like the wildness of the full moon. The full moon sang in his blood like the cry of the pack. This kind of wildness made him feel hollow and thinned out in a way. It compelled him to leave the small apartment he shared with his father and wander the streets of the darkened city.
There were things that went bump in the night, he knew. After all, according to the humans, he was one of those night bumping creatures. Syl was well aware that he was nothing compared to the worst of the night stalking beings. If things got messy though, he was sure he'd be able to get away by force of speed and agility. He might not pack much of a wallop but he could be slippery enough when he needed to be.
With the call of the wild tugging at his soul, Sylvester moved seemingly aimlessly along the thinly populated streets. He followed random traces of scents and half aware tugs of instinct, having nowhere in mind. It was the journey itself that would hopefully put him at ease. He had been tempted to prowl in the canine shape he felt most comfortable in, but the last thing he wanted was to end up in the pound. Again.
All of a sudden, his feet stilled. An entirely alien smell had reached him and he stood in the Christmas light lit street sniffing the air in an attempt to discover the source. It was when he noticed a dark haired young man in front of a well-lit window that Syl realized the scent had to be coming from him; and that he'd been acting in a decidedly non-human way just then, sniffing the air like the canine he was. He swallowed nervously and looked around. A few well bundled figures hurried along the street but none of them seemed to have noticed his strange behavior. Once again, Syl's eyes were drawn to the dark, back lit figure. It was impossible to tell if he had noticed or not; smell and hearing were his strong points, not sight. |

When you are sitting at night, at a slow street, things have a tendency to become more focused than ever before. It wasn't that he smelled the other one, nor did he hear it, it was just bit of a natural instinct. When you are a prey or predator you can almost feel those that surround you, especially when focusing on the world all around, not on a single object. The crowd walked by as if nothing was wrong, but one, one has a sense of hesitation. It was almost as if a rock was thrown in the water flow, easily noticeable if one dared to look.
This specific shadowy one decided it was time to look up, up at the rock that had just disrupted the flow around. His yellow eyes catching a glint of the christmas light giving them bit of a glow, his face still covered blending in with the shadows of his hair.
The rock in question stood there, on the sidewalk looking around. It was almost as if the rock was unsure of the other rock that had once fallen into the pond. Both knowing they did not belong, both judging what to do next. The rock looked back at the snake, the snake really knew nothing about the rock, but knowing that it was a rock was most certainly a good starting point. Maybe he could approach this figure in a friendly manner? Maybe he could offer this rock something it craved and didn't even know it?
He picked himself in a cautious, but friendly fashion, he began to walk slowly to the rock. His snickering smile hidden away, by the very shadows he used to hide his full identity. Only the bright yellow eyes seem to shine brightly giving any hint of identity. He had both hands in the pockets of his nicely made leather coat, maybe to keep them warm, maybe to look normal? His steps may have echoed, especially inside one with sensitive ears in this almost now silent street.
If the rock were to run, he planned to chase the rock, maybe have a little fun? If the rock stood and waited for what he wanted, well that certainly be entertaining. The one thing the snake was certain of, he would not let the rock get away. Oh no, this is first time he can release the stress from the office. This was his realm, the realm of shadows and chaos, misery all around.

| A prickle of apprehension made it's way from the base of Syl's tailbone all the way up his spine. He shook himself slightly and took another inventory of his surroundings to find from whence the feeling came. The street was completely empty now save for him and the dark figure who, he realized, had begun to head his way. He was an incongruous sight, so dark and shadowy amidst all the cheerful Christmas lights that so brightly twinkled. It was a thing that both drew and repulsed the canine.
There was something ever so slightly predatory in the figure's easy gate as he approached, footsteps seeming loud in the quiet night. There were all sorts of predators, Sylvester knew, and not all were all that dangerous. He hoped this was one of the mild sorts of predators; the sort that preyed for bedmates not blood. Not that he was interested in being anyone's bedmate, but it was preferable to deal with having to give a polite rejection than the alternative. Otherwise, he wasn't getting any major alarm bells from the figure's approach.
With that thought in mind, the young wolfdog flashed a friendly smile at the approaching figure. Maybe they weren't even coming towards him directly, maybe they were just heading in his general direction. After all, it was late and most people were home or heading there by now.
"Happy Holidays," he said brightly as the shadowy figure resolved into a dark haired, yellow eyed man in a dark leather jacket. Syl's own hands were jammed into the pockets of his own battered brown leather jacket, a slate blue scarf tied around his neck more for appearances than out of a need for extra warmth. "Chilly night, huh?" he asked as the man grew closer still. |
